Golf course

The Czech Republic has more than 100 golf courses. Growth since the 1990s has been steady, and the country now has a mix of championship venues, resort courses and smaller clubs. Many courses are within or near Prague; others are spread across South Bohemia, Moravia, Posazavi and other regions.

This overview summarises the landscape and points you to more detailed pages on selected clubs.

Prague and Central Bohemia

Several of the country’s top courses are close to the capital. PGA National Czech Republic (Oaks Prague), about 23 km southeast of Prague, is a Kyle Phillips design and has hosted the Czech Golf Masters. Albatross Golf Resort is roughly 35 minutes from the city centre and was long the home of the European Tour’s D+D Real Czech Masters. Both offer 18-hole championship layouts.

Further out, Panorama Golf Club in Posazavi is about an hour from Prague and provides 27 holes in three nine-hole loops (Forest, Meadows, River), often rated among the best in the country by Golf Digest readers.

Choosing a Course

Factors to consider include distance from your base, difficulty, green fees and availability. Championship courses tend to have higher fees and busier tee sheets; booking in advance is recommended. The Czech Golf Federation (CGF) is the national body and a useful source for rules, events and general information about golf in the Czech Republic.

Practical Tips

Peak season runs from spring to autumn. Some clubs offer reduced rates or special conditions for guests and societies. Dress codes and handicap requirements vary; check with each club before visiting. For contact details of this information site, see our Contact page.
